The 3.1 million gsf mixed-use development is planned in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre development. The project includes a 70-story (311m) hotel tower, a 43-story (191m) condominium tower, and a seven-level podium. The podium houses 750,000 sf of retail space and below grade parking is provided for 1,800 cars. A pedestrian link bridge to the adjacent Suria KLCC is part of this development also. Each tower tapers up gracefully and culminates in a glass crown. Architectural design is by Pickard Chilton and ADG provided the structural engineering for this complex. Due to the constrained site location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s central business district, “and adjoining building and tunnels top-down” construction methodology has been developed using diaphragm walls for the four levels of underground spaces. Superstructure consists of reinforced concrete perimeter frame and shear walls in the central building core supported on a pile supported foundation mat.
